Extended Cut Adds Depth to Season 8 Episode

The extended cut of Season 8, Episode 10, titled "His Name Was Martin," includes five and a half minutes of previously unreleased footage available in the streaming platform's Extras section.

While the overall narrative remains identical to the original broadcast version, the additional runtime alters the pacing and tone of specific sequences.

Hawley noted that the extra minutes allow the episode to breathe in a way that feels distinctly different.

Key Scene Enhancements

Among the modified sequences is an altered scene involving officer Nyla Harper approaching an abandoned building.

The revised cut replaces the original framing with a wider shot and bodycam perspective to build heightened tension before an attacker emerges from the dark doorway.

Hawley explained that the original broadcast edit lacked the intended suspense due to timing issues, but the extended cut successfully captures the tension of waiting with the blackness of the doorway.

The streaming edit also incorporates a deleted interaction between character Tim Bradford and Lucy Chen prior to a shift.
